i just added this to this forum.

Very easy

here is the code in inc.top _ 3.3 or Inc_header 3.4

right before the avtive link place

ActiveTopicCount = -1
if IsEmpty(Session(strCookieURL & "last_here_date")) then
Session(strCookieURL & "last_here_date") = ReadLastHereDate(strDBNTUserName)
end if
if not IsNull(Session(strCookieURL & "last_here_date")) then
if not blnHiddenForums then

'## Forum_SQL - Get ActiveTopicCount from DB
strSql = "SELECT COUNT(" & strTablePrefix & "TOPICS.T_LAST_POST) AS NUM_ACTIVE "
strSql = strSql & "FROM " & strTablePrefix & "TOPICS "
strSql = strSql & "WHERE (((" & strTablePrefix & "TOPICS.T_LAST_POST)>'"& Session(strCookieURL & "last_here_date") & "'))"
strSql = strSql & " AND " & strTablePrefix & "TOPICS.T_STATUS <= 1"
set rs = my_Conn.Execute(strSql)

if not rs.EOF then
ActiveTopicCount = rs("NUM_ACTIVE")
else
ActiveTopicCount = 0
end if
end if
end if
<b>
then </b>

change
Active Topics
to
Active Topics(" &ActiveTopicCount & ")

Also around Active Topics(" &ActiveTopicCount & ") line

place before
if ActiveTopicCount > 0 then
Response.Write "<B>"
end if
place after
if ActiveTopicCount > 0 then
Response.Write "</B>"
end if

to make it Bold when active topic are 1+ :D

Question for Kal, your "Who viewed this link, well actually 2 questions.

1. From where did you get it, I kinda like it. I have the vouyer installed but it does not record the date, perhaps I should alter it to record reply dates and read dates into the database.

2. Why did you include the link to be posted in replies? If a person views the initial topic they view its replies by default ;)

Might want to consider removing that section from post_info.asp

1) I created that. Its for 3.4 when it come out :D. maybe i will yet it out before that.

2) its in replies so you can see who seen the replies. yes when some one views the topic they seen the replies. but what happens after a new reply if posted. they did not see it. so why say they did.

nothing new to add to database. just checking the date and time they viewed to the post date. if they viewed the topci before the post time then they did not see it.

Works great! cya
